Ask your friends, family members, fellow parishioners at your church, neighbors or anyone you think might make a good Lion! Please let Lion Dave Pelligra know of ANYONE you feel would make a good member and he will add them to the list. We need more young members who have a desire to SERVE the citizens of Cuyahoga Falls! Don’t you know someone?

LIONS WEBSITE: We now have a CUYAHOGA FALLS LIONS CLUB website. Its address is www.cuyahogafallslionsclub.org. As our bookmarkers did not have the complete web address printed on them, the site is also available at www.cuyahogafallslions.org. Please visit the site, as it is updated frequently, thanks to our Webmaster, Lion Rick Sabo. There are links to other Lions websites as well. Lion Rick is also posting this Newsletter on our website each month.

ROCKIN ON THE RIVER; On July 18th your Cuyahoga Falls Lions Club is scheduled to serve the beer at ROCKIN ON THE RIVER. There will be three (3) beer wagons with five (5) taps each. We will need between ten (10) and fourteen (14) volunteers for each beer wagon. We will need four (4) experienced people on the beer taps, four (4) people serving the customers and (2) people moving the beer from the tapped beer table to the serving table. The other four (4) volunteers will be needed to give others a break when needed. So we are looking for forty (40) volunteers in total for the evening. We will meet with Bob Early at 4:30P.M. so he can lay down the ground rules and then start serving at 5:00 P.M. until 10:30P.M. Remember there are three primary rules. 1. No drinking of beer while serving. 2. No giving away of beer and 3. No giving away of tokens. If you want to drink a beer you must step outside the serving area, buy a token and drink your beer away from the beer wagon. We have five (5) weeks to line up our volunteers so call your friends and relatives and call Lion Syd Baker with your list of volunteers.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY; Habitat for Humanity is building a house at 895 Thorp St. in Akron over Father’s Day weekend. They need volunteers on Friday June 13th to help from 8:30 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. No power tools will be needed, only hand tools. Lunch will be provided. If you wish to help you can call King Lion Rick Sabo.

HELP FOR OUR SERVICE MEN: Our newest Lion, Joe Bettio informs us that there is an organization in the Akron area called Three Duces, that provides many free services to area service men and women and their families. These services include such things as psychiatric help, household repairs and many others. If you know of anyone who has a husband or wife on active duty or a service man or woman who has returned from active duty, who needs help of any type, please give Lion Joe a call.
