Nancy also thanked everyone who was involved in the October service project sending cards to area nursing homes and Lions.
VISUALLY IMPAIRED LUNCHEON:
Due to Covid-19, we will not be able to use Quirk Center for the luncheon this year. Our previous caterer, Kirby’s, has gone out of business. It was decided that we will give each of the attendees a card and $50 and a small box of candy. These items will be delivered personally. Neil, Eric and Bill will work on the list and will check contact information.
Lion Sue reported at the end of October 214 pairs of glasses and sunglasses were collected. Several of our donation sites are currently not collecting for us but hope to resume in the future. G.A.L.E.P. will be meeting by Zoom soon.
Lion Mary reported that the Salvation Army and Acme are still discussing whether kettles will be placed at the stores. It appears that the kettles will be outdoors this year. Our date is Dec. 12 from 10 am to 4 pm. Marry will be in touch about scheduling if we are needed this year.
LCIF is sponsoring a calendar raffle in March of 2021. Lion Lori has tickets available for this raffle. Tickets are $5.00.
Lion Ken Bevere reported that he will be having a meeting this month. There will be many tasks for club members to complete, including catering, gathering list of potential sponsors, soliciting sponsors, budget development, social media and other advertising.
Rick Sabo, Bill Skinner, Bob Weinhardt and Eric Klingensmith have agreed to serve on the Budget Committee. Rick will chair the group. The committee will be meeting this month.
